Music superstar Justin Timberlake has been diagnosed with Lyme disease.
The singer and composer and actor shared the diagnosis with his fans in a Instagram publication On Thursday that it was reflected in the conclusion of its two -year -old World World Tour.
“As many of you know, I am a pretty private person. But as I am reflecting on the tour and tour of the festival, I want to tell you a little about what is happening with me,” Timberlake wrote.
The singer, who shares two children with his wife Jessica Biel, wrote that he hesitated to share his diagnosis, but decided to do so in the hope of being more transparent with his fans.
“If you have experienced this disease or know someone who has done it, then you are aware: living with this can be relentlessly weakening, both mentally and physically,” Timberlake wrote. “When I first obtained the diagnosis, I was surprised safely. But, at least I could understand why I would be on stage and on a large amount of nervous pain or, I only felt a fatigue or crazy disease. I was faced with a personal decision.

Lyme’s disease is an infectious disease transmitted by ticks that, if not, can affect joints, heart and nervous system, according Centers for disease control and prevention.
Most cases of LYME disease can be treated with antibiotics during 10 to 14 days. In some cases, according to CDC, prolonged symptoms of Lyme’s disease can persist, including fatigue, body pain and difficulty.
Timberlake, 44, did not share more details of his diagnosis or treatment.
The former *NSYNC member launched his Forget Tomorrow World tour in April and made his final show on Wednesday in Türkiye.
In February, Timberlake canceled his last American show of the tour only a few hours before taking the stage in Columbus, Ohio, telling fans on social networks that he was fighting against the flu.
More recently, Timberlake faced fans criticism in the European stage of his tour, who accused him of singing very few of his live songs during his performance and, instead, they asked the crowd to sing the lyrics.
By publicly revealing his diagnosis of Lyme’s disease, Timberlake wrote on social networks that he was glad to continue his tour, despite the health struggles he faced.
“I not only tried my mental tenacity for myself, but now I have so many special moments with all of you that I will never forget,” he wrote. “It was reluctant to talk about this because I was always raised to keep something like this for yourself. But I am trying to be more transparent about my struggles so that they are not misunderstood.”
