Sean “Diddy” lawyers have asked a federal judge to free him from jail before his sentence, scheduled for October 3, saying that there are “exceptional reasons” for which he should not remain behind bars.
Combs was sentenced on July 2 for two transport positions to participate in prostitution in a divided verdict that acquitted him two positions of sex trafficking and a position of extortion conspiracy.
In a Tuesday letter addressed to Judge Arun Subramanian, who presided over the combs trial, the lawyers of the Mogul of the Rap music argued that there were “exceptional reasons” that deserved the release of combs, stating in part that the law under which the combs were condemned “has never been applied to the facts similar to these to process or incarcerate any other person.”

“Literally, there has never been a case, like this, where a person and his girlfriend fixed so that adult men had sex agreed with long -term adult bride as part of a lifestyle demonstrated Swingers, and has been prosecuted and imprisoned under the Mann Law,” said the defense letter. “Let them combs should not be in jail for this behavior.”
The 12 -page letter proposes that the combs are released with a bail of $ 50 million and reside at their home in Miami while waiting for the sentence, with any trip “limited to the Southern District of Florida, the Southern District of New York for law meetings, as well as airports necessary to travel between the two.”
Although combs was acquitted of the most serious conspiracy positions of sex trafficking and extortion, Subramanian refused to release him on bail before the sentence, citing a disposition in transport to participate in the prostitution law that said he presumes the arrest.
Combs has spent more than 10 months after bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, since their arrest in September 2024. His lawyers initially tried and then discontinued efforts to ensure a previous sentence date for him.
