A federal judge in New York declined on Monday to grant Sean “Diddy” combs Bail, not finding “exceptional reasons” to free him before his October judgment.
Combs was convicted of transport to participate in prostitution, which the judge said that he demands imprisonment. His sentence is scheduled for October 3.
Judge Arun Subramanian said that combs is still a risk of flight and a danger to the community, pointing out the violence exhibited in the surveillance images of the 2016 hotel that shows it by kicking and dragging Cassie Ventura.

The defense lawyers said the combs transported male escorts not for profit or low coercion, but to join their “swingers lifestyle”, arguing those justified unique circumstances. The judge said that the argument “could have traction” in a different case, but not one that included evidence of violence, coercion or subjugation in relation to prostitution.
“The record here contains evidence of the three,” said Subramanian.
“While combs can sustain the sentence that this evidence must be ruled out and that what happened was nothing more than a case of ‘Swingers’ arranged that used the voluntary services of the escorts for their mutual pleasure, the Government takes the opposite opinion: that Cassie Ventura and Jane were beaten, coerced, threatened, lied and victimized by the combins as part of their participation in these events,” according to the opinion. Comps also defended bail release due to misery and danger at the Metropolitan Detention Center. But the judge said that the prison staff “has been able to keep it safe”, even during an incident of threatened violence of an inmate, according to the opinion. The judge’s order did not elaborate the nature of the threat or what the prison staff did to mitigate it.
Combs has been imprisoned in the federal prison in Brooklyn for 11 months.
After an eight -week federal trial, a jury condemned the combs last month for two transport positions to participate in prostitution, but absorbed it from the most serious conspiracy positions of sexual trafficking and extortion.
Subramanian denied the bond after the verdict, then citing the violence that was “clearly represented” in the 2016 hotel security images.
